The kids had pizza and then they picked an Angry Bird or Pig to color to decorate their party favor bag. Of course we put their names on their pictures to keep track of each bag. I got the coloring pages from Cartoon Jr and copied them at 75% so they would fit on the front of the bags. I was going to initially glue the pictures to the front of the bags but decided last minute that stapling was quicker and easier.
Once those were done, I had pre-cut out Angry Bird mask pieces for the kids to glue together. Thankfully I had several adults to help with all the 4 year olds with this project! They had a choice of red, blue or pink. I was very happy that 4 years olds weren't correcting me on my non-Angry Bird color choices. I got the mask idea and template from Funky Polkadot Giraffe. She has some great ideas on her website. She actually sewed the masks together but I didn't have the time. Plus I thought the kids would have a blast making their own and they did!
When then did the cake and ice cream. I did a licensed Angry Bird cake that I purchased from Harmons that has a real working sling shot on it. All the kids had a blast singing Happy Birthday to Mikey and also helping him blow out his candles!
I then made bowling pins out of water bottles, replaced the labels with green cardstock and stuck on a Pig sticker that I bought from Walmart. The blue ball is just a ball we had at the house that I taped a blue bird balloon template face on. The cans were also wrapped in green cardstock and then I did a search for Pig pictures and found several that I sized to fit the cans and them glued them on. We also had a tank pinata which I had decorated with Angry Bird stickers and I put Pig stickers where the bullets come out. Nothing like getting the kids all sugared up to send back home!
Once the kids got tired of the games, I just let them play outside in the backyards playing basketball, frisbee, or just running around. After all was said and done, the kids had a great time and it really was worth it!
